Ibeno I Dakkada MPCS Palm Project creates alternative source of income for Okpulum and Ikot Ewang Communities
They took advantage of the opportunity created by the abundance of abandoned Oil palm estates on the island of Okpulum in Ibeno, negotiated with the communities, tamed the wild plants, harvest FFB, process Palm oil, and will be selling palm oil at N280 per liter.
But most importantly their ability to revive the only oil processing mill that serves the 2 communities on the island, Ikot Ewang and Okpulum is very commendable. Before now the people of these communities depended solely on fishing as means to livelihood, but today the Dakkada MPCS has introduced another great source of Income.
Thank you to His Excellency Gov. Udom Emmanuel for initiating and supporting the Dakkada Cooperative projects across the 31 LGAs of Akwa Ibom. #Dakkada/Cooperative/Development/Sacrifice/Enjoyment. #dakkadampcs
